Georgia teen chokes fox after attack, treated for rabies

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Authorities say a Douglas County teen is being treated for rabies after strangling a fox that bit him.

Douglas County Animal Control Manager Frances McMillan told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Friday that the 13-year-old boy is undergoing treatment as a precaution, and authorities expect test results on the fox to be returned soon.

McMillan says the attack on the boy was the second this week in the county by an animal suspected of having rabies. McMillan says a man was also bitten twice by a fox on Wednesday, a day before the teen was attacked.

McMillan is urging county residents to be vigilant and to get their pets vaccinated.
