Q: Why are noninvasive cosmetic treatments so popular today?

A: Life is busy, and downtime is scarce. Most people want to look their best but don't have much time to be off work or away from family, so they are looking for options for aesthetic improvement without missing a beat. Two new treatments for cosmetic enhancement are ulthera and exilis. Ulthera is a form of ultrasound energy focused on the skin and superficial muscle layers of the face and neck with the goal of skin tightening. The treatment takes an hour, requires no anesthesia, and there is little to no down- time. You can do this on your lunch break. Results are impressive, similar to a mini facelift with no cuts, stitches or bruising. Exilis is a treatment for fat reduction and skin tightening that can be applied to any area of the body. This is about a one-hour treatment using radio frequency energy requiring no anesthesia, no downtime and excellent results. It is particularly good for treating the abdomen, arms and thighs.
