Courter: Things I wish my kids would ask me

Editor's note: Barry Courter has a 25-year-old son who is a college graduate and a 20-year-old daughter who is a sophomore in college.

Q: Dad, I won't graduate for another year and a half but is it too late to be thinking about what happens after that?

A: It's not time to worry yet, so have some fun while you can, but it doesn't hurt to start looking at the future. Talk to some recent graduates, your teachers and counselors about the job market. Also, you might want to start thinking about the type of job you'd want. Where you want to live? Do you want a job that requires you to travel? Will you be happy at a desk all day? Doing some practice intereviews isn't a bad idea, either.
