Enicks wins age group at USA masters marathon and other sports news

Chattanoogan Hugh Enicks was the 55-59 age-group champion Sunday at the USA Track and Field Masters Marathon Championships in Minneapolis, winning his age group by about two minutes over his closest competition. Enicks finished the race -- which was ran as part of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon -- in two hours, 52 minutes and 20 seconds, and he was the 22nd fastest finished of all the masters (40+) runners in the race.

Golf

The UTC women's golf team shot 308 on Sunday to take fifth place at the Diane Thompson Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa. Mocs senior Agathe Sauzon finished tied for third at 227 after shooting a final-round 75, and teammate Emily McLennan wound up tied for 14th after shooting 75 Sunday to finish at 234, followed by Sarah Dolmovich (240), Isabella Loza (241) and Chris Perez (249). Megan Woods shot 236 playing as an individual. On the men's side, UTC junior lost in three-sets in the Flight 1 final, and Gina Delavalle won the Flight 3 back draw.

Tennis

UTC's women's tennis players Kaylene Chadwell and Kelsey Coots were co-champions of the Choo Choo draw at the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic at Champions Club, and teammate Alison Storie won the Tennessee River Draw with a three-set win.

Soccer

• University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Clare Latham scored late to help the Mocs avoid being shut out in Sunday's 5-1 loss to East Tennessee State at Finley Stadium. Latham scored into an open net in the 90th minute after freshman Samantha Hogan kicked the ball past ETSU goalkeeper Anna Yancey. UTC goalkeeper Hannah Dunn made seve saves in the loss.

• Lee University's women's soccer team posted a 4-0 win over Spring Hill at home on Sunday. Nicole Blanchard scored twice for the Lady Flames, and Kinsey Cichowitz and Meagan Newman each added a goal in the win. Marbel Egwuenu and Erin Olson each played a half in goal for Lee.

Volleyball

• Sewanee rallied from being down two sets to none, but lost a five set match (25-11, 25-23, 22-25, 20-25, 15-7) at Millsaps on Sunday. Diamond Stewart led the offense with 16 kills, while Jamie Sue Wilson had 13 kills and Walke Buxton had 16 assists. Sara Jayne Sutton led the Sewanee defense with 37 digs.
