Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, will attend a $200 a plate fundraiser in Chattanooga on Oct. 13, according to organizers.

Carter is raising funds to assist his son, Georgia Gubernatorial candidate Jason Carter. Jason Carter, a democrat, is running against incumbent Nathan Deal, a republican.

Real Clear Politics shows Deal up by an average of 3.2 points in the governor's race, which Real Clear Politics rates as a toss-up.

Carter will also attend the Kefauver dinner at the Chattanooga Convention Center, where he will greet guests prior to the start of the program at 6 p.m.

In 1974, then-presidential hopeful Jimmy Carter spoke at the first-ever Kefauver dinner.

Carter plans to take photos with donors at the fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
