An ATV crash around 7 a.m. sent a mother and her two children, 11 and 13, to the hospital after the ATV hit a boulder, said Dade County Lieutenant David Hughes.

He said the mother was driving herself and two children down a long private drive to where the school bus would pick them up when she allegedly lost control of the ATV, causing it to crash into a large boulder. Hughes said it appears the throttle got stuck, and the passengers were ejected 30 feet away from the vehicle.

All three were taken to Erlanger Hospital by ambulance.

Hughes said all three were conscious when he got to the scene, but he does not know what condition they are in now. No alcohol or drug use is suspected in the accident.

The identities of the three individuals involved have not been released.

The crash occured just a few days after LaFayette, Ga. high school sophmore Damon Jones was killed in an ATV accident on Dunwoody Road.
