Burlington, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, built its first store in the Chattanooga area in 63,000-square-feet of space in the Hixson retail center. The retailer is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning at Northgate to celebrate new shopping opportunities, new jobs and help for a local charity.
On Saturday, Burlington is offering the first 500 customers who make a purchase at the new store a free tote bag. There also will be opportunities for gift card giveaways, face painting, balloons and popcorn.
As part of the grand opening, Burlington also will donate some of its new merchandise to a local chartiy through the company' philanthropic program, Burlington Gives Back. The retailer's national non-profit partner, K.I.D.S. / Fashion Delivers, will work with the new Hixson store to make a contribution to locally-based Family Promise of Greater Chattanooga, which helps to prevent, reduce and end homelessness.
