The Alabama A&M Bulldogs used four pitchers Tuesday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, with each of them giving up five runs.

Not surprisingly, Tennessee won.

The No. 4 Volunteers belted out 12 hits and drew a whopping 13 walks in a 20-2 decimation that was called after seven innings. Tennessee improved to 27-6 heading into this weekend's visit from reigning national champion LSU, while Alabama A&M dropped to 5-26.

Tennessee has now scored 51 runs in its last three games, which were all run-rule victories.

"We thought this was a pretty good group, but I don't think you jump ahead and try to predict numbers," Tennessee coach Tony Vitello said after the rout when asked about his offense. "I think we knew we would be able to hit, but I think the thing that's nice is that the depth has stayed there.

"If anything, it might be building a little bit with how some of the guys did tonight or recently."

Tennessee scored three runs in the first inning to take control, with Blake Burke's one-out double to left-center field followed by Dylan Dreiling's RBI single to left-center getting the Vols going. The Vols had the bases loaded with two outs when Cannon Peebles was hit by a pitch and Bradke Lohry drew a walk for the 3-0 advantage.

Lohry drew another bases-loaded walk in the fourth inning to put Tennessee up 4-0, and then reigning SEC player of the week Christian Moore made it 7-0 with a double to right-center that scored Dalton Bargo, Peebles and Lohry. The Vols used seven pitchers who combined for 12 strikeouts.

LSU defeated the Vols twice in last summer's College World Series. The Tigers will carry a 22-12 record to Knoxville, which includes a 3-9 mark in Southeastern Conference play.

"It's going to be a big weekend, and it's going to be a packed stadium," Bargo said. "I know they've had a rough start, but they're national champions. They're a good team, and their bats are starting to get a little bit hotter."
