McCormick, Hemminger named Food City district leaders

Food City has named Myron McCormick as a district manager for the Chattanooga operating division and has appointed Brian Hemminger as district manager for 11 Food City stores in Hamilton and Rhea counties. A lifetime grocer, McCormick brings more than 36 years of industry knowledge and experience to the role.

McCormick began his career with Red Foods in 1987 as a courtesy clerk and has worked as a cashier, stocker, produce manager, seafood manager, customer service manager, lead assistant manager and store manager. McCormick joined the Food City store management team in 2015 when the company acquired 29 Bi-Lo supermarkets in the Chattanooga market area.

Food City also promoted Hemminger, a lifetime grocer with 31 years of experience, to oversee more than 1,000 associates in 11 retail stores.

Hemminger is a graduate of Maryville College, where he played football for four years. He began his grocery career in 1992 as a customer service manager for Red Food Stores, which was later acquired by Bi-Lo. Hemminger served as store manager for Food City's Dayton location for three years before being promoted to the team's special projects division. He was promoted to his current role as district manager in 2023.

 

Posey heads philanthropy research for Community Foundation

The Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga has promoted Robin Posey to senior director of philanthropic research.

Posey joined the foundation as a program officer in 2006 and most recently served as its director of community impact. Her new role elevates and builds on her expertise in philanthropy, strategic grant making and community engagement, supporting the foundation's mission to transform generosity into lasting change for a prosperous and just Chattanooga.

"Robin's understanding of our community's needs has been forged by years of working closely with our nonprofit partners," Maeghan Jones, president of the Community Foundation, said in a news release."Her unrelenting passion for making a difference is rivaled only by her work ethic and attention to detail in all that she does."

Posey is a two-time alumna of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a member of the UTC Children's Center Advisory Board.


Covert joins Capital Results to head Tennessee operations

Longtime Tennessee government relations leader Wayne "Jabo" Covert has been brought on as a partner at the Richmond, Virginia-based public affairs firm Capital Results.

Covert was most recently the senior vice president for government affairs for one of the nation's leading financial services firms, Community Choice Financial, based in Nashville. Prior to that he spent 17 years in senior leadership with Jones Management in Cleveland, Tennessee, overseeing lobbying efforts for a diverse suite of companies.

Capital Results has been at the forefront of several 50-state government affairs initiatives, and Covert will be leading the firm's expanding footprint into Tennessee.


Dr. Zhang joins Centennial Heart at Parkridge

Cardiac electrophysiologist Lane Zhang has joined Centennial Heart at Parkridge Health System.

Dr. Zhang completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University and medical degree at the Emory University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at New York University's Winthrop Hospital before completing fellowships in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Albany Medical Center and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, respectively.

"Centennial Heart at Parkridge has an excellent reputation," Zhang said. "I look forward to providing outstanding patient care and being a part of this remarkable team."

Prior to joining Parkridge, Zhang most recently served at Heart and Vascular Care of Atlanta. A board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist, Zhang has published numerous articles on cardiovascular health and cardiac electrophysiology.


Sain heads retail operations for Goodwill

Solara Sain has joined Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area as vice president of retail operations.

Sain previously served as the chief operating officer at Goodwill Industries of Dallas and has 27 years of experience with the Goodwill network.
