Special Event Street/Lane Closures for April 30-May 3

Thursday, April 30th:

The Chattanooga Corporate Challenge will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. River Street from Renaissance Park to Coolidge Park will be closed; Tremont Street will be closed surrounding the Blue Rhino and the right (eastbound) lane on Frazier Avenue from Market Street to the Walnut Street Bridge will be closed. Please watch for walkers and posted signs for closures.

Friday, May 1st:

The Armed Forces Day Parade will take place. Please watch for a lane closure on Market Street between 7th Street and 6th Street beginning at 7:00 am. Market Street from 12thStreet to Martin Luther King Boulevard will be closed from 8:30 am until 10:30 am. The parade route will be closed from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon and will close Market Street from ML King to 3rd Street, 3rd Street from Market to Broad and Broad between 3rd and Aquarium Way. Please follow posted detours.

Nightfall will take place from 5:30 pm until 11:00 pm. Market Street from 10th Street to 8thStreet will be closed; Martin Luther King Boulevard from Broad to Georgia will be closed, and Cherry Street from ML King to 8th Street. A temporary closure of Reggie White Boulevard from the entrance of the skate park to 19thStreet will take place for the construction of a tent. Closure is expected to be approximately a couple hours.

Saturday, May 2nd:

The JDRF One Walk will take place from 7:30 am until 12:00 noon. Please watch for a lane closure on Frazier Avenue between Market Street and the Walnut Street Bridge. Walkers will continue down 1st Street and cross Market Street to Aquarium Plaza. The route continues along the Riverwalk and across the Glass Bridge back across the Walnut Street Bridge. The Latin Festival will be taking place. Road closure will begin Friday May 1st at 1:00 pm and re-open Saturday at 8:00 pm. Union Avenue will be closed between South Orchard Knob Avenue and South Willow Street; Kirby Avenue will be closed from South Beech Street to Willow Street, and South Beech Street will be closed from Kirby Avenue to Union Avenue. The 3 State 3 Mountain Challenge will take place. Reggie White Boulevard from the entrance of the skate park to 20th Street and 19th Street from Chestnut Street to Reggie White will be closed. Please watch for lane closures and bikers on Cummings Highway from Browns Ferry Road to Scenic Highway. The right northbound lane on Highway 27 will be closed from the on-ramp at 4th Street to Manufacturers Road. The right lane of Alton Park Boulevard from Shipp Avenue to 25th Street will be closed. The right lanes of northbound and southbound Market Street approaching West 26th will be closed.
