Tennessee pediatrician indicted on child sex charges

ROGERSVILE, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee pediatrician has been indicted on sexual battery charges following allegations from two boys.

The Kingsport Times-News reports that 45-year-old Chris Calendine was arrested Monday at his Rogersville medial practice on a sealed Hawkins County grand jury indictment warrant charging him with aggravated sexual battery and sexual battery by an authority figure.

The indictment accuses Calendine of having sexual contact with a 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy on July 23. It says he had custodial authority over the 14-year-old at the time.

Calendine told the Times-News in a text message that the allegations are "completely false." He was released on $50,000 bond Monday.

A receptionist at Calendine's Promise Medical Group says his pediatric specialty practice remains open.
