Hardy Elementary School will begin the new year with a new principal as more mid-year administration changes are made in Hamilton County Schools.

Robin Bambrey, previously an assistant principal at Barger Academy of Fine Arts, will now serve as Hardy's leader. She will be joined at Hardy by Tonya Rose, a fourth-grade teacher at East Side Elementary, who has been promoted to assistant principal.

Previously, Rose spent two years as an assistant principal in Houston County, Ga., at Matt Arthur Elementary and Miller Elementary, but joined East Side when she relocated with her husband to Chattanooga. Bambrey has worked in Hamilton County since she first joined Big Ridge Elementary in Hixson in 2003.

Hardy's changes come after significant reorganization of leadership in Hamilton County Schools' central office by new Superintendent Bryan Johnson this fall.

Hardy Elementary's previous principal, Shannon Braziel, was among administrative changes announced last week - she will take over the assistant principal position at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School.

Braziel's assistant principal, Lindsey Hagan, had only been at Hardy since the beginning of the school year. Hagan will replace Bambrey at Barger Academy of Fine Arts, which will allow her "to better utilize her extensive experience in fine arts," reads a news release from the district announcing the appointments.

The personnel changes join several others at the school-level that took place over Christmas break, including:
