A Cherokee County, Ala., resident foiled a burglary at a neighbor's home on Sunday, helping deputies there nab two juveniles with the items they allegedly stole.

Cherokee County deputies responded to a home on County Road 58 after the neighbor spied an unfamiliar vehicle parked next door and people carrying stuff out of the house, Sheriff Jeff Shaver said in a statement.

A call to the homeowner confirmed no one was supposed to be there so deputies and Cedar Bluff Police Department officers found an underage boy and girl with suspected stolen items in their vehicle, Shaver said.

The juveniles were charged with third-degree burglary and transported to the Youth Detention Center in Anniston, Ala., the sheriff said.
