A man has been charged in connection to the Nov. 18 homicide of 28-year-old Ladarius Cross, according to Chattanooga police.

Britian Crutcher, 26, a known gang member, is charged with criminal homicide and has been in the Hamilton County Jail since Nov. 22 on separate charges.

Cross was killed after someone shot at the vehicle he was traveling in at about 5:16 a.m. The vehicle then crashed in the front yard of a home in the 1400 block of Roanoke Avenue that November morning.

Cross died at the scene. Terrance Careathers, 26, and an unidentified minor were also injured.

At the time, police said the surviving victims did not provide any detailed suspect information, but homicide investigators "worked continuously for more than four months to piece information together in order to charge Crutcher," an updated news release said.

Police said Careathers and Cross are known gang members.

Crutcher has an arrested record in Hamilton County dating back to 2010. His previous charges include aggravated robbery, kidnapping and assault, possessing a firearm with intent to go armed and domestic assault.

Circumstances surrounding the Nov. 18 homicide remain under investigation.
