Two men steal more than $10,000 worth of bikes from local bike shop Friday morning

Two men broke into Scott's Bicycle Centre in Cleveland, Tenn. early Friday morning, quickly stealing two bikes worth thousands of dollars before leaving the store.

The break-in occurred at 5:59 a.m. and was caught on camera. One man picked the lock to the front door and immediately went to a particular bike, grabbed it and walked out the front. Another man then entered, went to another bike displayed at the front of the store, grabbed it and left. The entire incident took about 30 seconds.

Both intruders were adult white men who had covered their faces. The thieves stole a 2018 Trek Powerfly FS 5 Large electric bike worth $4,500 and a 2018 Pivot Mach 5.5 Medium carbon bike worth about $6,200. The bikes were among the most expensive in the shop. However, they forgot to grab the charger for the electric bike.

"They definitely knew what they wanted," inventory manager Brandan Coulter said. "They've likely been in here before."
