Under construction: Old East Ridge apartment complex renewed

Name: Fountain Gardens

Location: Off Germantown Road in East Ridge, this renovated apartment complex is near a host of supermarkets, shops, restaurants and entertainment and is only 10 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Children may attend East Ridge Elementary, Middle or High schools.

Status: Though the complex was built in 1972, community manager Peggy Whillock said that the owners have recently installed new roofs, new parking lots, a new playground and have begun to renovate interiors on a rolling basis. There are 100 units total.

Price: Single-bedroom apartments with 687 square feet range from $471 to $505 per month, two-bedroom apartments with 976 square feet range from $525 to $585, and three-bedroom apartments with 1244 square feet cost from $630 to $725 per month.

Features: Interior breezeways and electric utilities offer value to potential renters, while property managers are in the process of upgrading appliances, flooring, fixtures and faucets. Windows and doors are being upgraded to a more energy-efficient variety.

Amenities: Fountain Gardens is constructed right in the heart of East Ridge; off the beaten path, but within a stone's throw of everything the city offers. Additionally, residents can take advantage of a pool, playground, recently upgraded laundry facility and enjoy the benefits of living in a wooded area.

Owner: Wilkinson Real Estate Advisors owns the property and was recently honored by the Chamber of Commerce for their renovation.
