Koreans add site in Rogersville

South Korean company Sam Dong Inc. announced Thursday it will locate a second facility in Rogersville, Tenn., adding 85 jobs over the next three years.

The $2.8 million facility will make specialty magnet copper wiring products used in the production of transformers, motors and generators. "With increasing customer demand as well as an overall increased market share in the North American market, Rogersville was the obvious choice for our expansion," said Sun Gi Park, the company's general manager.

House OKs bill on regulation

WASHINGTON - The House has passed legislation that would give more weight to the impact of federal regulations on small businesses, whose owners can be a powerful political force and are being courted by both parties.

The Republican bill went to the Democratic-run Senate Thursday on a 263-159 vote. It's the first of three Republican measures that attempt to curb what GOP lawmakers say are aggressive, job-killing and sometimes costly regulations by the Obama administration.

The White House budget office said senior administration advisers would recommend a veto.
