Bonlife Coffee, a subsidiary of Bonlife Inc., plans to open its first retail roastery in downtown Cleveland in late July. A member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the business was started to shorten the distance from farmer to consumer by establishing direct relationships with coffee farmers in countries around the world, from Thailand to Guatemala to Uganda.

Founder Jeremy Moore, a graduate of Cleveland High School and Lee University, said he is renovating a site at 241 Inman St. on First Street square for the coffee store and its small batch coffee roaster and an imported Italian espresso machine.

In preparation for the grand opening, there will be a hiring open house to fill up to 15 jobs Monday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
