Wilson Air Center, which operates the general aviation facilities at Chattanooga Airport, has expanded its footprint at Memphis International Airport.

Wilson Air, a Kemmons Wilson Co., has signed a 10-year lease for the former Pinnacle Airlines' hangar in Memphis, gaining 30,500 square feet of heated hangar space and 20,000 square feet of office and shop space. The hangar is adjacent to Wilson Air's main fixed based operations campus in Memphis.

Delta Air Line's de-hubbing of the Memphis airport has likely fueled growth in corporate aircraft operations there, according to Wilson.

"Businesses must continue to do business and commercial flying has become so inefficient, inconvenient and difficult, that it is no wonder people are flying on corporate aircraft," said David J. Ivey, vice president of Wilson Air Center.
