A Chattanooga developer has plans to put a five-story, 84-unit apartment building on the North Shore near Renaissance Park.

Vision Hospitality Group is looking at a site at Cherokee Boulevard and Manufacturers Road for the apartment building, the cost of which could top $10 million, said Andrew Hibbard, the company's director of investment.

Hibbard said the company would like to start on the building, which would hold studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, in late summer or early fall.

Company officials are meeting with neighbors in the area to talk about issues such as parking, he said. Vision's early plans would place about 26 parking spots on site, but Hibbard called that "a moving target."

He said the company is in discussions about securing more parking spaces from CARTA, which manages nearby parking.
