A new call center is opening in East Tennessee that will eventually employ between 300 and 550 workers.

Sykes Enterprises attended the Morristown Industrial Development Board meeting Tuesday to finalize details of the company's newest call center, which will begin training employees in August.

Sykes official Todd McReynolds said the company is excited to be locating in Morristown. Hamblen County Mayor Bill Brittain said the company's decision is a testament to workforce skills in the area.

R. Jack Fishman, who is chairman of Morristown's industrial board, said the center will diversify the type of job that is available in the area. A job fair is set for July 9 and training for new employees will begin in early August.
