MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police say officers are on the scene of a fatal helicopter crash in western Kentucky.
Police said one person died in the crash Monday in Graves County. The pilot, Randy Love of Maryville, Tenn., was a 17-year TVA employee. He was killed when his helicopter crashed near Hickory, Ky., at approximately 11:20 a.m., according to TVA.
Police said in a news release that representatives of the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are on their way to the scene.
TVA released a statement offering its condolences to the family the the pilot.
"The thoughts of the entire TVA family are with Randy's family as we grieve the tragic loss of our colleague," the agency said in a news release.
