The Cumberland County Piecemakers will present their sixth biennial "Mountain Memories" quilt show this weekend at the fairgrounds in Crossville, Tenn.

According to online sources, the Cumberland County Community Complex will house three rooms of quilts, vendors, demonstrations and a "bed turning" of antique and almost antique quilts. More than 200 quilts are expected in 14 categories. These will include a special Winner's Circle of past show award winners and quilts juried into national shows.

On the adjacent grounds is the annual Antique Tractor Show, "a favorite of husbands who might not be thrilled to spend several hours with all things quilts," says Pat Sloan on her Quilt Mashup Forum. Admission to the tractor show is free.

Jane Hall, noted author and certified quilt appraiser, will be judging the quilts in the exhibit as well as appraising quilts. Fee is $40 for a written appraisal that is acceptable to insurance carriers. A verbal analysis for personal knowledge is $10. To make an appointment for an appraisal, call Marsha Radtke at 931-456-6932.
