The Youth Theatre at Chattanooga Theatre Centre, 400 River St., will present "Seussical, the Musical, Jr." over the next three weekends. In the play, Horton the Elephant (played by Willie Derrick, seated) finds himself faced with a double challenge: protecting a small world and guarding an abandoned egg. The musical is designed for young audiences, with a length of about an hour appropriate for younger attention spans. Maria Chattin-Carter is director; Andrew Chauncey is musical director. Others in the cast are May Hartness, Laura Maynard, Katie Ward, Christian Nichols, Tamblin Papendorp, Sarah Cox, Sophie Shelton and Chloe Lyle. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through March 4, with an additional 7:30 p.m. performance on March 3.
