Improv Chattanooga is hosting a comedy doubleheader Saturday night, Aug. 18, with two cleverly themed shows.

The night's fun begins at 8 p.m. with "1-Star Reviews - The Show."

Audience members are asked to go to their favorite review sites before leaving home, and find a 1- or 2-star review of a local establishment. Print it out and bring it to the show.

The improv team will throw them all in a box, then pick out several reviews at random, which will become the basis for a series of scenes.

As further incentive, anyone who brings a review for the improvisors to use will get an admission price of $5.

A comedy showdown between improv and stand-up artists is set for 10 o'clock that night.

Four local comics will each do a 7-minute stand-up set. Improv Chattanooga's team of improvisors will follow each with a series of scenes based on that comic's set.

The featured stand-up comics will be Natasha Ferrier, Matt Harris, Matthew Paul Revere and Jon Gabel. Special guest and headliner will be Art Sturtevant.

At the end of the night, the audience will vote by applause to choose who was the funniest.

Organizers advise this late show is rated "a hard R." No one under 18 will be admitted.

Anyone who pre-orders a ticket online at www.improvchattanooga.com will receive a free small popcorn when they arrive at the show.
