Carmike Cinemas Majestic 12 Ovation Club VIP Auditorium welcomes audiences to 2012, a year when everyone will want to go to the movies.

"I think with just the sheer amount of highly anticipated movies coming out this year and into the next holiday season, this will be one of the best years we have had," says Justin Wright, Ovation Club VIP Auditorium manager. "My assistant and I wrote down a list of movies coming out that we wanted to see, from "The Hobbit" to "The Avengers." You've got all the sequels and sagas starting. I'm actually really excited to be in this industry for this coming year. With the comfort level and service we can provide, I think people will turn to us first."

The easiest way to access show times for the VIP Auditorium is to visit carmike.com. There is a tab for the Ovation Club. Visitors can also see the movie times on Fandango, where the VIP Auditorium is referred to as Auditorium number 12.

"We have the same sound system as the larger auditoriums, so it can be a more intense experience," Wright says. "Because the theater is 21 and over, you will definitely be in an auditorium with your fellow adults, providing fewer distractions during the movie."

The theater can hold up to 52 guests. Several seats are connected with an adjoining armrest that can be raised to make a cozy seat for two, which Wright says is popular for couples. There is also seating for handicapped guests with a table and call button especially prepared for wheelchairs. Each row seats eight people, so viewers who come in first can secure adjacent seats for all their friends or coworkers.

Wright says it is not unusual for companies to reward employees with tickets to the movies. "People really have a great experience," Wright says. "They definitely want to find out more about our future show times so they can come back."

A button at each seat allows audience members to silently summon a server to order food, wine or beer before and during a movie. The new beers join a list that features Blue Moon, Samuel Adams, Smirnoff Ice, Mike's Hard Lemonade, Corona and Corona Light. The wine selection includes six wines such as a Frei Brothers Sonoma Chardonnay and an Estancia Merlot. The Ovation Club's food menu features everything from appetizers to desserts. The Ovation Club's Reuben is a favorite entrée prepared with sliced corned beef, sauerkraut, melted Swiss and the kitchen's special sauce on toasted marble rye.

All tabs are closed 30 minutes prior to the movie ending, so bills can be paid before the movie credits. Throughout the film guests can recline in the plush leather chairs and sip their favorite wine or beer. The theater was carefully designed so reclining guests will have an unobstructed view of the screen even if others in front are sitting upright. "If you get your movie tickets with two entrées and a couple of drinks, it will still be comparable, if not less, than going to an establishment for dinner," Wright says. "And here, you get dinner as well as the movie."
