The Scenic City Chorus and the Choo Choo Chorus - Chattanooga's female and male barbershop-harmony ensembles - are partnering to present "Christmas in Harmony: An A Cappella Extravaganza" on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m. at Girls Preparatory School, 205 Island Ave.
The two choruses will partner for "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
Sweet Adelines will perform such holiday favorites as "Indiana Christmas," "Christmas Chopsticks," "Carol of the Bells," "Coventry Carol" and "Still, Still, Still."
The Choo Choo Chorus will sing "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," "Mary Had a Baby" and "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town."
The Choo Choo Chorus is the local affiliate of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Scenic City Chorus is a member of Sweet Adelines International.
Several quartets from both choruses will be featured. Additionally, the Choo Choo Chorus will be joined by the Chattanooga Community Christmas Chorus, a group of male singers who are not Choo Choo chorus members, but enjoy singing with them for this concert.
Tickets at the door are $20 ages 13 and up, $18 in advance. A CD of the 2016 Christmas program will be available for $10. Proceeds from all sales benefit the Walter Boehm Birth Defects Center.
