Violinist Robyn Bollinger wraps up a residency with String Theory Youth Initiative with concerts today, March 30, and Friday, March 31. Both are free and open to the public.

STYI, held in partnership with Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., is a program for select high school students. It is designed to cultivate the next generation of arts leaders and advocates through project-based learning. Participants learn about operations, marketing, advocacy, outreach and more.

* Today, March 30, 7 p.m.: Members of STYI and Bollinger will perform with students in the Vermont Youth Orchestra of Burlington, using Low Latency Audio Visual Streaming. This event, which will take place on the fourth floor of the Chattanooga Public Library, 1001 Broad St., will conclude with a performance featuring cellist Emily Taubl along with Bollinger.

* Friday, March 31, 6:30 p.m.: Bollinger and STYI students will perform "Ciaccona," incorporating multimedia historical presentations and live personal narratives with musical performance. The performance will be held in Evans Center at Girls Preparatory School, 205 Island Ave.

This program delves into the questions of the meaning of art, the purpose of expression and the motivations of famous composers such as Biber, Bach and Bartok.

Bollinger is a popular figure on the chamber music stage, both as a member of the Grammy-nominated Boston-based ensemble A Far Cry and for her work at festivals and in chamber music series.

She is a recipient of the Entrepreneurial Musicianship Grant from New England Conservatory for her groundbreaking "Project Paganini," a performance project featuring all 24 Paganini Caprices. She has received top prizes at many international competitions, among them the International Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna, the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists in France and the Louis Spohr International Competition in Germany.
