Get to know the musicians behind the instruments when the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera features 11 of its principal musicians in the next chamber series concert on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5.

"Gems From the CSO Principals" is an annual favorite with the audience as well as the musicians, who get to choose the music to be played.

The concert will be held in the auditorium of the Humanities Building on the campus of Chattanooga State Community College. The recently renovated auditorium offers more seating and better sight lines for concertgoers. The venue change was made while the Silver Ballroom of the Read House, where the series has previously been held, is undergoing renovations.

The four pieces to be performed and featured CSO musicians are:

» Vaughan Williams's Quintet in C minor: Sheri Peck, violin; Robert Elder, viola; Eric Reed, cello; Taylor Brown, double bass; and Alan Nichols, piano.

» Ysaye's Sonata for Solo Violin op. 27, No. 2: Joshua Holritz, violin

» Passacaglia: Joshua Holritz, violin; Taylor Brown, double bass

» Poulenc's Sextet: Kristen Holritz, flute; Robert West, clarinet; Robert Burks, oboe; Gordon James, French horn; Eric Anderson, bassoon; and Alan Nichols, piano.
