The 24th annual Hot Rod Power Tour - a seven-day, seven-city summer road trip of about 6,000 cars - will roll into town this weekend.

The Hot Rod Power Tour is more than a traveling car show - it's the largest hot-rod road trip in the world. Classic cars and hot rods travel over 1,300 miles from city to city, drivers enjoying meeting people at stops along the way. The 2018 road trip will be held from June 9 to 15, with an expected 100,000 spectators along its way.

Day 2 will find the cars pulling into Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Highway, between noon and 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 10. There's no charge for spectators to come view these cars from all over the country.

At each tour stop, there will be motorsports celebrities, entertainment, games and dozens of giveaways on the main stage.

Spectator parking for the Chattanooga State stop will be located off-site at the Tennessee Riverpark, 4301 Amnicola Highway. Shuttles will be provided to the college.

Hot Rod Power Tour welcomes all makes and models of hot rods, street rods, custom trucks, muscle cars and performance machines of every vintage and nameplate. For many of its drivers, the Power Tour is the ultimate vacation with friends and family, says Jessica Redden, tour publicist.

Those who travel from start to finish are considered "Long Haulers," a title they proudly boast. More than 2,500 long-haul vehicles are expected on this tour.

It's not too late to take part. Participants may register a vehicle for just one day, two days or the entire event. Vehicle registration is open to drivers of any year, make or model vehicle.

Registration fee for Long Haulers is $160, which includes vehicle entry to all venues, two credentials, one goody bag, Long Hauler finisher plaque (will receive if checked into all stops), Long Hauler finisher certificate.

A multiday registration is $160, which includes vehicle entry at all venues, two credentials and one goody bag. A single-day registration is $50, which includes vehicle entry at one venue, exclusive license plate and dash plaque.
