Two fundraisers are being held Saturday, June 30, in Cloudland, Georgia, but participation in either requires registration by this Saturday, June 23.
Proceeds from both will be used for facility improvements at Cloudland Community Park.
Orders are being taken through June 23 for the Cloudland Community Barbecue Sale. Orders may be placed for smoked pork butts or smoked pork loins, $30 each, or chicken, $10 each. Order online at www.cloudlandcommunity.wix.com/park or by calling 706-862-3040.
Meat will be ready for pickup on June 30 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Star-Spangled Fun Run and Barbecue in the park.
The Star-Spangled Fun Run will kick off event day, June 30, at 9 a.m., however runners need to arrive early enough to sign in and be ready by 8:30 a.m. Anyone registering that morning must do so by 8 a.m.
The 5K course will start at Cloudland Community Park, make a loop through Gadsden Avenue, Atlanta Avenue, Golf Course Road and County Road 103. The course includes moderate-to-steep hills.
Registration fee, which includes a T-shirt, is $15 until June 23; $20 after that. Download a registration form from www.cloudlandcommunity.wix.com/park/fun-run.
Following the run, there will be activities at the pavilion, including Bingo, live music and barbecue plates for sale. The barbecue plates will cost $5 and include a pulled-pork sandwich, potato chips, pickle and drink.
