Scott Elrod stars in "Home Run," about a pro baseball player forced into rehab for alcohol abuse in his hometown.

A free screening of a new inspirational baseball movie, "Home Run," will be shown at 6 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Pointe Baptist Church, 60 Dyer Bridge Place, in Ringgold, Ga. Popcorn and drinks are on the house, too.

The film stars Scott Elrod ("Argo," TV's "Men in Trees") as baseball all-star Cory Brand, who knows what it takes to play in the big leagues but whose off-field life is spiraling out of control. After a DUI and team suspension, Brand is sent back to the small town where he grew up, where is forced to coach the local youth baseball team as part of his recovery program. As his young players experience the joy of the game, Brand finds an unexpected second chance for transformation and redemption.

The film is rated PG-13 for some mature thematic material.
