A Welsh singer and a British spy could add a little intrigue to a concert by the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass band Sunday in Crossville, Tenn.

The performance is the final presentation of the band's Crossville Concert Series. The program is "Brass Goes to the British Isles."

"As the concert theme implies, the group will be playing music from Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England and will feature several of their own musicians in instrumental solos," according to the band's website.

As an added bonus, the Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble, directed by Winston Morris, will join the band as guest artists. The TTTE was the first ensemble of its kind to release a commercially produced album, and more than 20 have followed. Its credits also include performances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.

The 30-member SSSB was founded in 2008 by Dwight Wages of Crossville and is conducted by Dr. Don Ryder of Knoxville.

The program selections are expected to include "Celtic Suite" and "Year of the Dragon" by London composer Philip Sparke, "Fantasy on British Sea Songs," the Punchinello March and a James Bond collection.

Featured soloists will be euphonium player Brandon Jones on "Spiritual Fantasy" and cornet player Joel Tillman on "Ye Banks and Braes," a traditional Scottish tune. The Tom Jones hit "It's Not Unusual" will spotlight the trombone section.

Tickets are available at First National Bank of Tennessee branches in Crossville (1836 N. Main St.) and Fairfield Glade (5011 Peavine Road), Cumberland Eye Care in Fairfield Glade (77 Fairfield Blvd.), Bed & Biscuit Kennel (153 Fence Lane off Peavine Road) and the Cumberland County Playhouse box office (221 Tennessee Ave.).
