Watkins Family, Mountain Cove in Ringgold

Bluegrass with a tinge of gospel takes center stage tonight in Ringgold, Ga., as The Watkins Family and Mountain Cove Bluegrass perform for the monthly Sacred Sounds concert. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Ringgold Depot, corner of Depot Street and U.S. 41.

The Watkins Family -- which features matriarch Judy Watkins and her adult children Todd and Lori -- has charted two singles -- "What a Wonderful Name" and "Sometimes You Gotta Rock the Boat" -- from their latest project "Heaven's Worth Waiting For." It follows the acclaimed "Darkness Wept," which brought the radio singles "Love Stood Alone," "Round the Last Turn" and "He's Still God," a No. 1 song.

Mountain Cove Bluegrass is a six-member band whose members, ages 16-19, met while attending two Chattanooga-area high schools. The group began performing in late 2008. The young musicians released their first CD, "New Generation," in late 2009 and the second, "Back Home," in 2011. Members are Austin Adkins, Cody Harvey, Mike Holloway, Colin Mabry, Will Markham and Tyler Martelli.

Randall Franks will emcee the show.

The event is a fundraiser for the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship Fund, administered by the nonprofit Share America Foundation.

Ticket donation is $5. For more information, visit www.shareamericafoundation.com.
