Enrichment Day at Chattanooga Zoo may be about helping the animals, but that kind of do-good service ultimately benefits the doer as well.
The fifth annual event, in which guests create activities and treats for the animals, is scheduled Saturday. The zoo will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enrichment activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a cost of $5 per family. Proceeds benefit the animal care program at the zoo.
Regular admission fees also apply: $8 adults, $6 seniors (65 and older), $5 children 3-15.
Reservations also are being accepted for Cocktails for Conservation, scheduled 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the zoo, 301 N. Holtzclaw Ave.
This 21-and-older evening will include drinks and light hors d'oeuvres while helping the zoo raise awareness and funds for conservation efforts here and abroad.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door. To purchase tickets, call 697-1339.
