Massage Envy in Hixson has some brand-new therapy and beautification techniques, and franchise owner Brooke Goodyear is eager to share them with the community.
That's why she's hosting an open house, free to attend, Aug. 25-26 at the Hixson location from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees can sign up for free facials, total body stretch sessions and chair massages, and a grand prize of a yearlong membership will be raffled off for free. The year membership includes one hour-long massage session or facial each month and additional discounts for both the member as well as family and friends.
Discounts on memberships will also be awarded as door prizes.
The total body stretch is a technique new to the region, Goodyear said, although it's exploded in popularity in bigger cities in the last few years. The Massage Envy chain is an official sponsor of the PGA Tour, and Goodyear said several championship golfers have made the stretching session part of their regular training routine.

Trained professionals lead the stretching sessions, and Goodyear said it helps tremendously with flexibility and range of motion by giving every muscle in your body a workout and making each less tight and constricted.
"I love it, personally," she said. "I'm double-jointed myself, so I can never really stretch myself enough. The first time I tried it was the first time I ever felt like I got a good stretch."
Additionally, the business is now offering microderm infusion sessions, a patented new skin care treatment that takes microdermabrasion to another level.
Microdermabrasion treatment can often leave the newly revealed layer of skin on someone's face raw, red and irritated, Goodyear explained, but the infusion treatment rectifies that with a serum that protects the skin and guards it against everything from wrinkles to dryness.
The treatment debuted this month.
"We really just want to let the Hixson community know everything new we're offering. It's so much more than just a massage," Goodyear said.
