The last time I wrote about Mellow Mushroom, it was to tease its December Big Lebowski fest, a three-day event that celebrated "The Dude," one of pop culture's most beloved icons.

This weekend, Mellow Mushroom at Hamilton Place will celebrate another endearingly disheveled cult-hero, during another three-day fest – this one, celebrating Bill Murray, of course.

The Mellow Murray Weekend is Jan. 27-29. Festivities kick off on Friday at the Hamilton Place location with weekend-long specials that include select $3 Bell's Brewery pints, $3 "Meatballs" munchies, $9 "Caddyshack" burgers, 50-cent "Fantastic Mr. Fox" chicken wings and $3 "Aloha" sunset-in-paradise cocktails. The menu will also feature a "Ghostbusters" specialty pie.

Then, on Sunday at 5 p.m., Hamilton Place Mellow will host Bill Murray trivia. Each team may have up to six members – and all players must be 21 and older. Electronic devices may not be used as aids. Cash-only admission is $5.

Downtown-dwellers interested in attending trivia might want to take advantage of Mellow's VIP shuttle running from its downtown location to Hamilton Place. There are two departure times: 3:30 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. The shuttle service is $35 per person, which also covers free admission to trivia, VIP seating and en-route refreshments: Sweet Water IPA and pretzel bites. Reserve your spot at paypal.me/mellowHP/35, and be sure to specify your preferred departure time in the "special instructions to the seller" option.

Be sure to stay tuned for Mellow's next rollicking event, which will spotlight local female rockers: Ashley and the X's, Get Hot or Go Home, and Heatherly.

The all-ages concert will be at Mellow's downtown location Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. Cash-only admission is $5. Ten percent of the daily proceeds will benefit Chattanooga Girls Rock, a weeklong rock camp for girls ages 9-17. But that shouldn't surprise you; after all, Mellow Mushroom knows awesome.
