For years, Fazoli’s has been synonymous with free breadsticks. In fact, those warm, buttery breadsticks may just be the restaurant’s longest-running claim to fame.

Finally, Fazoli’s is capitalizing on its famous fare.

On June 11, local Fazoli’s will roll out the restaurant’s latest limited time promotion, featuring two new recipes that use the same dreamy dough as its breadsticks.

First, there is the “breadstick slider,” served in three flavors: smashed meatball, spicy Italian, and pepperoni pizza. Second, there is the “breadstick snack,” bite-sized breadsticks topped with cheese and pepperoni and served with a side of dipping sauce. Think nachos, but made with bread instead of chips and topped with pizza ingredients.

“We wanted to introduce more finger foods — food that people can snack on in cars,” said Ken Szostek, Fazoli’s director of operations who, for the time being, is the only person on-site who knows how to fix that breadstick snack. “I eat them every day!”

Soon, however, he will train the whole crew to prepare the new recipes. And when those limited-time offers go live, they will be accompanied by three sweet counterparts.

Also on June 11, Fazoli’s will introduce wild berry tea, blood orange Italian ice and salted caramel cheesecake. The promotion continues through the summer, and maybe longer if all goes well.

“They could be added to the everyday menu,” said Ken.
