July will begin with a bang at Fuji Steak and Sushi on Shallowford Road. And this time, it won’t be coming from the clamorous hibachi stations with their exciting culinary show. Rather, this bang is bigger — fireworks big.

On Independence Day, Fuji will feature a number of food and drink specials. All day the restaurant will offer all its sushi rolls for half price. Additionally, it will offer half-price bottles of large sake, two-for-one glasses of house wine, $2 select pints and $3 well drinks. Moreover, to honor the country, Fuji is offering 15 percent discounts to all government workers (with ID).

And the deals don’t stop after the last firework fades. For the entire month of July, Fuji is showcasing two delectable new appetizer specials. First, the restaurant’s edamame is available for $3.50 (it is normally $5.50). Second, Fuji is introducing a new recipe, the “Tuna Blooming Rose.”

The Tuna Blooming Rose is a layered dish made with mango, avocado and tuna. It is topped with fish roe, drizzled with spicy mayo and a sweet Japanese sauce, and adorned with a sprig of mint. The fresh new plate bursts with so much color and flavor, it just might rival even the biggest firework display.
