DALLAS, Ga. (AP) - Sheriff's officials say a 3-year-old boy has died in an accidental shooting in north Georgia.
Sheriff's spokesman Ashley Henson says deputies who were called to a home in Dallas Tuesday morning found the boy with a gunshot wound to his chest. Henson says the deputies performed CRP and he was pronounced dead at the Paulding Wellstar Hospital.
Henson said in an email that a preliminary investigation determined the boy shot himself with a gun that was inside the home.
The Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children Unit is investigating and charges have not been filed.
