Bell benefit Sunday

How much is a smile worth? What about a handful of flowers?

Chattanoogans will decide that Sunday during a day-long, multi-venue musical benefit for Sandy Bell. Bell, one of downtown Chattanooga's most-recognized personalities for his tendency to walk from venue to venue carrying flowers he hands out to people.

Concerts will be held at four venues throughout the day. Proceeds from the concerts will be donated to help pay for Bell's medical expenses.

Beginning at noon, there will be a bluegrass concert at Aretha Frankenstein's. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., a suite of local musicians, including Mark "Porkchop" Holder, The New Binkley Bros. and The Molly Maguires, will take the stage at JJ's Bohemia.

Donation jars for Bell are set up a locations in downtown, Northshore, St. Elmo and Red Bank.
