Leslie Jordan is visiting the ladies of Wisteria Lane tonight when he guest stars on "Desperate Housewives" (9 p.m. Comcast cable 10).

The episode marks the first of a recurring role he will have on ABC's hit comedy/drama.

"I can't say a lot about it other than I play an art dealer who gets into cahoots with Teri Hatcher's character," the actor said in a phone interview. "I've got another episode of 'Desperate Housewives' airing Dec. 4."

Jordan is the Brainerd High School and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduate who won an Emmy Award for his recurring role as Beverley Leslie on "Will & Grace." He is the author of "My Trip Down the Pink Carpet," the autobiography on which his one-man show is based.

Jordan called taping Sunday night's episode "a lot of fun."

"I've known Marc Cherry since he was Dixie Carter's assistant. I knew Teri Hatcher from when I was on 'Lois & Clark' years ago. I knew Vanessa Williams from 'Ugly Betty.'"

Cherry created the Sunday night series and is its executive producer. At its peak, "Desperate Housewives" was television's fourth most-watched program, drawing weekly audiences of 23 million. Over seven seasons its ratings have dropped to 11.8 million viewers. ABC has announced that this will be its last season.
