About Riverbend

The Riverbend Festival is a 10-day music festival to be held at the 21st Century Waterfront June 7-15.

Country star Dierks Bentley will headline on the main Coca-Cola Stage on Wednesday, June 12, during this year's Riverbend Festival, according to music and talent coordinator Joe "Dixie" Fuller.

Also announced are jazz artist Larry Carlton, who will perform Thursday, June 13, on the Unum Stage, and Moon Taxi, who will perform Friday, June 14, on the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union Stage. The three are the first announced acts for the 2013 festival.

Bentley made his first mark on the country music scene in 2004 when his "What Was I Thinkin'?" won a Country Music Television Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year. He also won the Top New Artist trophy from the Academy of Country Music.

He won the Horizon Award the next year at the Country Music Association Awards and took home another CMT award for Performance of the Year in 2009. He was up for Single, Song and Album of the year CMA awards last month.

He's been nominated for several Grammy Awards as well.

Carlton has won four Grammy Awards, including one for the theme song to "Hill Street Blues," which he penned and recorded. He began his career as a session musician playing for everyone from Billy Joel to Michael Jackson to Barbra Streisand.

Moon Taxi is a band on the rise that has taken inspiration from everyone from The Beatles to Radiohead.
