What: More than 800 guests attended the 37th annual StyleWorks luncheon and fashion show and about 400 came to Sip&Shop, its preview party held the night before, both in the Chattanooga Convention Center.
Benefits: The events raised more than $115,000 for Siskin Children's Institute, according to Laurie Stevens, communications manager for the institute.
What: Employees of Comcast, joined by some of their family members, donated a day of service to Bethel Bible Village during Comcast's 12th annual Cares Day.
Benefits: More than 100 volunteers cleaned and helped with grounds maintenance on the 64-acre campus of the Hixson nonprofit. Bethel provides safe, Christ-centered homes for children and families in crisis.
About: Comcast Cares Day is Comcast and NBCUniversal's largest single-day corporate volunteer effort. Local Comcast volunteers were joined by members of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga's Digital Connectors since the Urban League is a national partner of the event.
What: CVS recently donated $5,000 to Creative Discovery Museum's Club Discovery Program.
Benefits: Club Discovery is a free program for children with disabilities and their typically developing peers ages 6-12. Up to 30 children participate in themed fun, educational activities while learning from each other. The program includes children with Down syndrome, autism and physical disabilities.
