After 19 years as a single-day event, the Southern Brewer's Festival at Ross's Landing is adding a second day with more beer and more music.

Three bands, including headliner moe., will perform on Friday, Aug. 22. Opening act will be Appalachian dance band Cabinet with a third band to be announced at a later date.

The lineup for Saturday, Aug. 23, will feature jam band Gov't Mule, led by guitar icon/frontman Warren Haynes, as the headliner. Soul/R&B singer A.J. Ghent, who recently opened for the Zac Brown Band at McKenzie Arena, will open the day at 4 p.m. with the Randall Bramblett Band performing at 6 p.m. Bramblett has worked with the Allman Brothers Band, Bonnie Bramlett, Widespread Panic and Robbie Robertson over the years. The five-piece band Green Sky Bluegrass will perform ahead of Gov't Mule at 8 p.m.

The festival features beers from more than 40 craft brewers from around the country drawing more than 15,000 people. It was named by Maxim magazine as one of the Top 3 beer festivals in the country in 2013.

Last year's festival netted $193,000 for Chattanooga Kids on the Block and the Chattanooga Community Kitchen. That success led to event organizers adding the second day, according to George Parker, who books the music for the event.

"When you are paying for everything and still having that kind of success, you want to grow," he says. "We'd like to build it to be a huge fundraiser."

Tickets for both days are $40 in advance and available at Big River Grille. At the gate, two-day tickets will be $50 on Aug. 22 and $30 for one-day only on the day of the event. You will not be able to buy single-day tickets in advance.
