In preparation for Jordan Smith's first visit to Cleveland, Tenn., since winning "The Voice," officials at Lee University announce two concerts have been scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, to accommodate expected crowds when the singer returns to his alma mater.

Smith is the 22-year-old Lee music major who took a semester off to audition for "The Voice," made it onto Adam Levine's team and was the front-runner throughout the season until winning the title. In addition, he claimed the record for highest-selling artist in iTunes downloads in any of the show's nine seasons.

Smith will perform first in Lee's regular morning chapel service, which will be open only to Lee students and employees. That performance will be followed by a reception for Lee students and faculty in Paul Dana Walker Arena.

Thursday evening, the general public is invited to a "Welcome Back, Jordan!" community concert. It will be held at 7 p.m. in Conn Center, on the Lee campus at the intersection of Parker and 11th streets.

This free concert will be a one-hour, non-ticketed event. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Overflow seating will be available in nearby auditoriums on a closed-circuit, on-screen relay.

Smith announced last week that his debut album, "Something Beautiful," will be released March 18, a mix of covers and original songs. Its first single, an original song called "Stand In the Light," can be pre-ordered at jordansmith.lnk.to/SomethingBeautiful. Anyone who pre-orders the album will receive an instant download of the single.
