Dalton police are investigating the deaths of a father and daughter whose bodies were found inside their apartment July 29, officials say.
Deborah A. Howard, 54, and her father, Alvin T. Howard, were found in their apartment on Shugart Road in Dalton, said Bruce Frazier, Public Relations Specialist with the Dalton Police Department.
Frazier said there were no signs of foul play, and that both had apparently died of an illness. He said officers discovered the pair after someone called requesting a welfare check.
Bobbie J. Dixon, Whitfield County Coroner, said the deaths were "definitely a result of natural causes." She would not say what illness the father and daughter had, or at what point each died. The Howards' obituaries state that both died on the July 29, and that Alvin Howard was preceded in death by Deborah Howard.
