University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior forward Ty Patterson was named Southern Conference player of the week earlier today.
Patterson averaged 18.5 points, nine rebounds and shot 48 percent from the floor in wins over Western Carolina and Appalachian State.
He recorded the second double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Cats and had 18 points against the Mountaineers.
Patterson is the first UTC player to earn the award this season and first since Stephen McDowell won it in January last year.
