Tennessee: Officer fatally shoots man while trying to serve warrant

DYERSBURG, Tenn. - Dyersburg police have fatally shot a man as they attempted to serve a warrant.

City police Capt. Steve Isbell said an officer is on routine administrative leave and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called in to help investigate the shooting Wednesday afternoon at an apartment complex.

Elizabeth Neace , who lives in another apartment, told the State Gazette she heard three shots and one bullet penetrated the bathroom wall of her friend's adjacent apartment. There were no other injuries.

Police did not immediately release the names of the shooting victim or the officer involved.
