Students lead community outreach

Collegedale Academy high school students will host and lead an Illuminate Chattanooga series April 15-21.

photo Students in the Illuminating Ministries Bible study group from Collegedale Academy will host Illuminate Chattanooga at the Samaritan Center from April 15-21.

"We had a Bible study and were thinking about outreach programs we could do in the community and we came up with this series," said Collegedale Academy senior Christopher Marshall.

The students will gather under a large tent pavilion in front of the Samaritan Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. Every evening of the series will start with live music and move into testimonials from students and then a presentation on the special subject of the evening. There will be child care and children's programs provided for youth up to age 12.

Marshall will work with other students from his Bible study group, Illuminating Ministries, as well as several students from Ooltewah High School to complete the program. He invites residents and other students to attend the lecture series which will examine different religious questions such as 'Who is God?'
